We called in earlier the same day to make dinner reservations & to order the duck ahead of time! The duck comes out right away after you get seated!
*food: 5/5:
*Peking Duck- if you're dining here, you must try their duck! The skin is so crispy and the meat is so tender.
*Duck Soup- (SKIP) I'd pass on this dish next time. The broth is made from the same duck very light in flavor. There's cabbage and tofu in it. They give you the option to add the soup for an additional $9.
*Scallops- Garlicky & melts in your mouth.
*Beef & Ox Tongue in hot chili sauce- A good side dish to have if you like spicy.
*Shrimp Fried Rice- The shrimp was very plump & fresh.
*House Pancake- A good crispy, chewy, & fried dish to have.
*Salted Egg Fried Pumpkin- This dish came out late so we were all pretty full, but it did come out piping hot with a salted egg yolk flavor!
*service: 5/5- Service is super quick. They do a great job of checking up on tables and making sure that your food comes out accordingly.
*interior: 4/5- The restaurant was super busy. They have areas for private parties on the sides and a lot of tables in the center.
*parking: 5/5- They have a large parking lot on the side & street parking. -

Save your time, try literally anywhere else that serves Peking duck in SGV - I guarantee it will at least be better than here.
1) Taste & quality:
Expect to wait an hour for Peking duck if you do not make a reservation ahead of time for it. There are extremely polarizing reviews for the duck here, everyone seems to love it or hate it. Sadly I am on the side that does not like it at all, even after coming here 3 times in the past. The skin was thick and fatty, more reminiscent of skin from Chinese roast pork/燒肉 than anything I've tried from a roast/Peking duck. Meat was very dry and lacked any flavor, would not have been able to discern it from bland chicken breast if you were to put them side-by-side for me to do a blind taste test. Duck soup was bland, would have thought it was a vegetarian soup if I did not know it was duck soup. It has cabbage and a generous bit of tofu inside, which doesn't help dispel the fact that it looks and tastes just like a vegetarian soup. We also ordered black pepper beef, sweet & sour ribs, and fried rice - all of which was better than the duck & duck soup. However, they were all average in taste and dishes that I could have easily gotten in another restaurant.
2) Convenience, location, parking:
Unless you come on weekdays, parking here has always drove me nuts. Do not be fooled by the giant parking lots on both sides of this plaza, 888 next door always seems to hosts huge weddings at night on weekends, leaving patrons of the other restaurants on either side of this plaza to compete for parking. Weekends during the day are not the best either, as 888 does dim sum during brunch/lunchtime and it always attracts hoards of people; trying for parking on the Hakata Ramen side of the lot might be the key during dim sum hours. During the 3 times I've come to Ji Rong (both during dinnertime on a weekend), I've had to actively prowl for a parking spot due to the fact that 888 was hosting a wedding.
3) Price:
The price for the duck is actually quite average compared to similar restaurants, expect to pay anywhere from $50-60 for a whole duck no matter where you go. I say the price is not worth it just because it was not good and not worth the $60 we paid for it.
4) Service, cleanliness, ambiance:
Typical loud and crowded ambiance of a Chinese restaurant, but that was expected and I would not dock off points for that. I don't expect 5-star, top-notch service from here either, but the staff here was rude and unfriendly. We raised our hands multiple times for extra napkins, tea refills, etc. & waiters would walk right past us looking the other way or just see us and ignore us. It took considerable effort to flag someone down for just about everything. My personal favorite customer service story from here is when my uncle asked for another glass of wine and the waitress returned with an empty glass. We clarified telling her that we meant a refill/another additional glass of wine, to which she asked "well I have to charge you for that" and walked away rudely. -

The lady at the front desk is extremely rude and not friendly
Btw the card minimum is $50 at a restaurant
Do not come here -

Peking duck here was delicious.
Make sure you call ahead to reserve the duck just to be safe.
Service was prompt and food was great.
Ji Rong is located in the same plaza as 888 Seafood restaurant, ample parking inside their lot except for night where theres a wedding ceremony dinner then parking can be quite hectic.
Definitely coming back in the future to try other things on their menu. -

Made a reservation for a duck and came on a weekday so no wait! The restaurant was filling up though so it's best to make a reservation.
The AC in the restaurant itself was blasting so it was really cold, our food came out hot but quickly cooled down because it was so cold, so that was a minus.
Good quality duck and excellent presentation, the cut the skin in rectangles so it fits nicely in the wrap. I like the crepes much better than the bao wrapper too.
The garlic shrimp with vermicelli was well seasoned and not overcooked. We also had the meat pie, crispy outside and thin layers of pancake and meat. Garlic tong choy is always good.
Great quality food and nice for a family meal. Will definitely recommend and go back.
